A Friend-to-Friend Life Update
I’m going to be honest with you, my friends... I’m staring down the last few miles of a triathlon that I didn’t fully realize I’d signed up for.

December is always like this for me. Not just the business push (though that’s real) but the quieter weight I carry: the responsibility of making the holidays magical for my family. Of loving my employees well through the busiest season. Of holding space for my community when everyone is stretched thin and running on fumes.
I consider it a great privilege. I do. But privilege doesn’t mean weightlessness. And this year, I’m tired in ways I can’t quite articulate.
Maybe you know the feeling?
The 40th Street house flip that my husband and I have been working tirelessly on here in Holland, MI is finally about to hit the market. I’ve poured my heart into Welcome Home Craftsman, including every design choice in that home, and I'm proud to say that it is stunning—but “almost done” has its own special kind of exhaustion.
Then I have my curated boutique here at Quinnessentials, which is getting a major reset. I’m pivoting away from the overstuffed inventory model and moving toward something more intimate—capsule collections that actually feel like me, launched seasonally with intention instead of a big closet. More on that soon, but right now I’m in the messy middle of making it happen.
Quinn Vise Hair Design & Co. is sprinting toward a strong Q4 finish, and I’m so proud of our team. If you’ve ever wondered what makes QVD different, it’s this: we function as one team moving in the same direction. We exist to care for mothers and community leaders with real support systems, and to fully support our service providers so they can do their best work. It’s not a collection of individuals doing their own thing. It’s a unit, and I love them.
And then, of course, there’s Mane Janes. An exclusive Masters training academy for licensed stylists and for independent artists.

I’ve been quiet about this one in particular because, honestly, I’ve been scared. Scared that people won’t understand the concept. Scared it’s too different. Scared to put it out there and hear... silence.
But, armed with bravery, let me tell you—here’s what ❇️ Mane Janes ❇️ is:
It’s for the stylist who wants to answer to herself and her clients, but doesn’t want to be completely alone. Shift-based rentals. A stocked color bar. Coaching, if you want it. A space that’s fresh, modern, clean, and affordable. No long-term lockdown. Just flexibility and optional support, designed for independents who want to forge their own path, and dance to their own melody.
If that’s you—or someone you know—we’re accepting applications now. Book a private tour here.
And if that’s not you, but you love someone who’s burning out while “working behind the chair”? Send this to her. Sometimes the right opportunity just needs the right person to pass it along.

I don’t know what you’re carrying right now. Maybe it’s a business. Maybe it’s a family. Maybe it’s both, plus the invisible labor of making everyone else’s season bright.
If that’s you, I’m swimming in the deep with you. And I want you to know: the weight you carry doesn’t mean you’re incapable. It means you love deeply and take your responsibilities seriously. That’s rare. That’s valuable. And it’s okay to admit it’s heavier than you might be able to carry alone.
We don’t have to pretend we’re not tired. We just have to keep moving—even slowly—toward the people and the things that matter most.
I’m right there with you.
Carpe diem,
Quinn
P.S. If you’re local and want to see the 40th Street flip before it officially lists, find me on IG @quinn.vise and I just might just invite you to the open house.
